About Us
Hammer Down Armament was started in October of 2024 by two long time friends that met through the shooting sports nearly a decade before. Rob has been in the firearms industry for over 10 years and Marc has been involved in the shooting sports for many years. When the opportunity presented itself to take over the J&E Guns, it seemed like a great time to jump into the business.
Our mission is to provide for safe and responsible firearms ownership at a reasonable price. We pride ourselves in being knowledgeable about the products we see and the services we provide. Our aim is to build a community around the store, not just building a customer base but building relationships with our customers.
Marc McMaster - Owner
I've been passionate about guns since my dad used to take me shooting as a kid. My dad ran a "gun shop" out of our basement as a kid in Hanover, PA where I grew up. I joined the Army right out of high school and was a Blackhawk Helicopter crew chief for 6 years. I went to Penn State after I got out of the Army and never left the State College area. I got back into guns shortly after graduation and worked my way into competition shooting more and more every year. Now, I have a gun in my hand pretty much every single day whether it's dry fire or live fire. I met some of my absolute best friends and some of the coolest people at shooting matches. I shoot mostly 3 Gun and Tactical Games event and have been fortunate enough to win some matches. I recently competed in the Tactical Games National Championship in Austin, TX in November. I also shoot IDPA, some USPSA, some precision gas gun matches and I love taking shooting classes to learn new skills from the experts.
